What happens after I buy a Storybook?
You’ll receive an email with a printable gift card, along with some details to download the app and some high level explanation on our process. You will be able to download the app and get started straightaway.

How hard is it to set up the app?
It takes about 5min. After creating an account, you will be guided through a few onboarding screens to help you add your loved one to the app and get started with capturing their stories.

How easy is it to record stories?
Very easy! There are 3 ways to capture stories with the StoryTiling app:
- Give your loved one access to the app, and ask them questions that they will directly answer through the app, in audio or video format.
- They can also record stories on their own in the App by selecting a Chapter and following our guided process
- Use our “Interview“ feature to record their stories while being physically with them.

How does the guided process work?
It’s been designed so you don’t need to think about where to start or what to ask. Just select a Chapter/Topic among the list of 30+, and be prompted to answer a series of questions about this topic. Read the question and Record the answer when you are ready.

How can I make sure to capture great, meaningful stories?
Just follow the process! The Chapters and Questions have been designed by our anthropologist, using the same structure and progressive sequence of questions used during professional anthropological interviews. This helps people open up and share authentic stories about meaningful areas of their lives.

What are examples of Life Chapters I can record?
”Early Childhood”, “Building my own Family“, “Major Events in my Life“, “Migration“, “Reflections on My Life“, “Proudest Moments“ are examples of our 30+ Life Chapters.

What if my loved one won’t use an App?
You can interview them using the “Interview” feature. They don’t need to download the app or do anything, they can just tell their stories while you record from your phone.

I’m very busy. How long does it take to record stories?
You can go progressively and split the recordings in small interview sessions. You can typically get a couple of Chapters done within a 30min Interview session.
If your loved one uses the app, it’s even easier. They can record stories on their own or you just need to send them questions with a couple of clicks.
You have up to 3 months to record stories before asking us to create your Storybook.

Can I get some help from my family to record the stories?
Absolutely! You can invite members to join your family account, and they’ll also be able to ask questions or interview your loved one.

How many stories and chapters can I record for the Storybook?
You can choose to do all of the 30+ Chapters or just select the most meaningful ones. A Storybook in typically between 8 and 15 Chapters on average.

Can I record just audio and not video stories?
Easy: just press record and put the phone down, only the audio will be recorded!

Can I add pictures to the stories?
Yes, you can add a cover picture to each of the stories.

Can I see my stories after recording them?
Yes. All your stories are saved and accessible within the StoryTiling App. You can also invite people to join your family account for them to watch the stories, or share any story outside of the App with a weblink.

How do I know I’m ready for the Storybook to be created?
That’s really up to you. As a general indication, a Storybook is about 8 to 15 Chapters on average. You have up to 3 months to record stories before asking us to create your Storybook.

How do I ask for my Storybook to be created?
Just contact us via the Profile section of your app.

What will the anthropologist do with the stories in my Storybook?
They will organise the stories and chapters to surface the essence of your loved one life story into a beautiful, personalised website.

How long will it take to receive my Storybook?
3 business days.

How is my Storybook delivered?
You will receive an email with a link to your Storybook, as well as a private password to access it.

What does a finished Storybook look like?
A Storybook includes a beautiful cover page presenting all your Life Chapters. Each Life Chapter also has its own page with all your recordings and pictures beautifully organised.

Is my Storybook private?
Yes, it is secured with a private password.

Can I securely share my Storybook?
Yes. You can share the link and password to your family and friends, so they can also access the Storybook.

How do I know my stories will be preserved for future generations?
Your stories are securely stored onto your app account and in your Storybook. You keep access to the App and Storybook without date limit.
You can also contact us at any time to download all of your stories.

What is anthropology?
Anthropology is the study of what makes us human. It takes a broad approach to understanding the many different aspects of the human experience, including human language, culture and societies.

A digital Storybook curated by an anthropologist sounds amazing. Why is it so cheap?

What if I want to purchase several Storybooks to capture the stories of multiple family members?
You can only buy one at a time at this stage, but there is no limit to the amount one family can buy. Moreover, by using the same App account to record all your loved ones’ stories, you can keep all your family stories together within the same account.

Are you sharing my data with third parties?
No and we never will.
